Dave Faulkner's NCR Archer

It may not be obvious in the video of the forward closure failure, but this is not the same rocket. This is just such a great picture, I had to find a place to post it - and it seemed like a great teaser for the Forward Closure Failure video. The rocket in the video was a PML AMRAAM on a J350 reload. This is an Archer from North Coast Rocktry flying on a G64 Reload. The owner of this rocket is Dave Faulkner, and as he correctly pointed out, "A forward closure failure on a J350 would have been much more spectacular!"

Incidentally, the esteemed and ubiquitous Ed LaCroix examined the Archer wreckage and determined that the CATO was not the result of a forward closure failure, so it appears RTV may have deceived you twice. Just what caused the failure is unclear.

A final note; Dave's wife, Deby Faulkner is the proprietor of Recovery Technologies purveyors of fine nylon parachutes and other recovery related items.

Thanks, Dave!
