NotRocs - Kitchen Gizmos

One can only imagine what target audience that product designers had in mind when they make the decision to shape an egg timer or a pepper mill in the likeness of a spacecraft. Who, one may wonder, is the target market? Is there a population of wistful homemakers who regret their decision to forego astronaut training school? Is the consumer niche the same geeky crew of bachelors that buy DVDs like The Three Stooges Have Rocket, Will Travel? Is it goofy rocket guys like me? Or, perhaps, there is no potential market at all....

Matching rocket salt and pepper shakers. How high do you think these babies would go on an 1/2A 13mm motor?

These rocket shakers are too blimpish.
Not enough chrome.

Someone please explain how one decides that the appeal of a rocket-shaped salt shaker is enhanced by painting a flamingo on the side.

Or a set of faces, for that matter. And why does the salt shaker have the leering, lecherous expression? Shouldn't that be the pepper?

Does this peppermill belong on a launch pad or in a slasher movie? You pick.

These shakers match the trash can at the top of the page.

These shakers remind me of the Hindrocket.

The Mars Mission Rocket Wisk! Another retro design from the 1950's when everything in the kitchen was shaped like a rocket, even if it wasn't.

A vintage Atomic Man lunch box with a rocket thermos. SWEET!

.

And the disappointing modern day equivalent.
A rocket box, presumably for some space-themed fast food child's meal.

This tea kettle is really pretty cool --

The rockets orbit the pot when the water boils!

Now that your water is heated, fill this rocket-shaped tea ball with your favorite leaf and immerse away! SPLASHDOWN!

The product reviews say this coffeemaker is rocket-shaped, which makes me wonder what they were adding to their coffee.

A rocket fuel coffee scoop. Presumably, it would be unacceptable to use this scoop to make decaf.

Rocket cookie cutter for making rocket cookies, a marvelous treat to go with your rocket-brewed coffee or rocket-steeped tea.

This cookie cutter is supposed to be shaped like a skyrocket. I think it looks more like the cursor on my PC.

This is cool:
A rocket-shaped kitchen timer

for those who prefer
a countdown to breakfast.
